2007: Barron played the full 90 in New Zealand's 5-0 loss to Venezuela in Maraciabo and was a 59th minute substitute for Jeremy Christie in the 2-2 draw with Wales.

2006: One of the few players drawn from the domestic New Zealand Football  Championship (NZFC), Barron is a work-aholic midfielder who forced his way into New Zealand’s World Cup calculations after a memorable rookie year for the All Whites in 2006. Scored a late winner in just his second match to seal a 2-0 series victory over Malaysia in February 2006.
