August Newsletter
Hamilton City are delighted to be adding the USA to the other teams that will be based in Hamilton. We are working on ensuring that a warm welcome is afforded to all the teams and that along with excellent training facilities we will be introducing them to the confident, progressive and modern city that is Hamilton. The people of Hamilton are becoming aware that something very special is about to take place in their city and they want to be a part of it. For the last three months the local magazine 'City News' published by the city has been featuring aspects of the event and the city will continue to profile this event as often as possible Planning is now underway on the theming of the city as the FIFA Venue Organising Committee and the Hamilton City Council look to create a real atmosphere within the city to promote the event and welcome the team visiting the city. As part of the look for the city a selection of Hamilton secondary schools have been encouraged to adopt a team to support during the tournament and to design an event banner for their team. The banners will be shown in garden place and will be part of many activities as we build towards the event. For instance, a football tournament wil be held within garden place where players of all ages can compete and show case their skill to the general public. |
