SarahHamilton hosts Young Football Ferns

A direct marketing team of young female football players were out in force this month as the Hamilton Venue Organising Committee held its first activation day.

The May 3 activation day coincided with a visit from the Young Football Ferns who were playing in Hamilton against the Melville United U-15 men's team.

The newly selected direct marketing team, known as the Crew, took the opportunity to promote the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup which starts October 28 and is being held in Hamilton, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Made up of 10 players who are passionate about the game, the Crew got amongst the supporters and informed them about the tournament and handed out ticket packages, volunteer information, Hamilton tattoos and balloons.

On the same day, some of the Crew also attended the Referee's Tournament at St Peter's College in Cambridge. An official FIFA adidas football was awarded to the best men’s and women’s player for their prospective finals at the Referees Tournament by the marketing team.

HamiltonBoth events were extremely successful. Hosting the Young Ferns at Melville United Football Club was a great opportunity for the Waikato region to not only watch a national side play, but to support local talents Charlotte Wood, Kate Loye and Kylie Jens.

The direct maketing team consists of Amy Timings, Brogan Mathieson, Cayne Schooley, Holly Nixon, Kelsie Mackintosh, Laura Evelyn, Lizzie Bosson, Megan Lucas, Sian O’Donnell and Tracy Taylor.

The Crew is responsible for getting the football community excited about the tournament and providing people with information on how to buy ticekts.

Look out for them at club days throughout the winter season!
