The World is coming to play!!!

Chris Simpson

In 2006 New Zealand Football won the rights to host the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup to take place between the 28th of October and the 16th of November this year. We will go down in football history as the host of this inaugural FIFA World Cup event.

All FIFA tournaments are run the same as the main FIFA World Cup - the biggest sporting event in the world - so this is a chance to taste that atmosphere right here in our own backyard.

It will be a fantastic spectacle with 16 of the world's best footballing nations taking part after a qualification process involving more than 100 countries. The event also provides a great opportunity to showcase New Zealand, with at least 150 territories taking the broadcasting rights to the event.
